The UGC Committee
  Hibaq
I’m fifteen and this is my third year with the UGC. I’ve come back yet again because I felt the choir is a great way to meet new people and simply enjoy music. I am part of the UGC Committee and love helping out to make sure everyone’s voice is heard. The Choir has really helped me come out my shell and develop self confidence.

  Jerllisa
This is my third year as a choir member and very proud of all our achievements. I look forward to this year and believe as a choir, we can get even better and once again deliver outstanding performances.

I play bass and flute and now since joining UGC, I’ve found I can sing. I just used to mess about with my voice before not taking it seriously. Now I’m developing as a singer broadening my musical knowledge and ability.

  James Nwaogwugwu-Chairman
I became very interested in music making and DJing as a teenager, after tagging along with my older brother's Dj crew.
I was also part of an award winning Youth Project in Wandsworth running a Young People's Radio station called "FUNDAMENTAL FM" which ran for 5 years.
I see the UGC project as an excellent opportunity to get myself and young people involved in music again.

  Dee Albert – Project Manager
Every year I become more and more motivated and inspired by the commitment, motivation and talent of the young people who come into The UGC. This is no longer a Choir & Music Making project, it's a family of individuals with a common goal to touch and inspire others with their genuine love for music.

The Singers
A young people’s choir with a focus on Gospel music, with a commitment to embrace and perform a wider range of music driven by the choir memebers. The Choir meets for regular rehersals and will be performing at various local and international events.

  Lifford Shillingford - Choir Director
I have been singing since I was at school and what started as a hobby, taking part in school performances and concerts soon became my full time occupation.  Being given the opportunity to work with these committed young people is amazing.  There is so much talent out there just waiting for a chance, an opportunity to express themselves and realise their goals and dreams so, whether it remains a hobby for them or they decide to pursue a career in the music business, its nice to be able to be a part of the foundation that introduces them to singing and performing.
UGC for me is a beautiful blend of colours, which together create a picture not based on ethnic background or religious beliefs but focuses on positive praise and a community of young people coming together to create a wonderful noise.
