UGC is managed by the Hounslow Learning Mentors Black History and UNITY
group, which was established in 2004 and is based in Hounslow West London.
The Group is a voluntary education focused organisation, committed to empowering
and encouraging young people from all ethnic backgrounds to participate
in raising awareness of Black and Minority Ethnic achievements in history,
through a diverse range of educational and artistic projects.
• Members are given the opportunity to become involved in a culturally
diverse experience.
• Young people would be given the opportunity to learn about a form of
music that they are unfamiliar with, but has its roots in much of the “black” music
forms that they listen to such as Hip Hop, Garage and RnB.
• The involvement of young people in Composition of the music will encourage
them to recognise and study the link between Gospel and other ‘Black Music’ forms.
